Starting in 2012 as a pilot project with a manual sorting process, recycling has now become a fixed part of the festival’s waste disposal concept. Your help and our constantly improved logistics processes in recent years made that possible. By outsourcing the sorting process to professional plants we can now separate and dispose of large amounts of waste in a sustainable manner.
What does that mean in practice for the festival? Even an automatic sorting plant cannot separate all of the waste retrospectively. The waste must be as “clean” and dry as possible. That means: the more waste, and the more quickly we can bring your waste to the recycling stations, the faster we can remove the waste from the grounds.
You can hand in your waste to the recycling stations on the campsite, and then collect your waste bonus at the cash desk/wristband tents. The stations are marked on the Hurricane site map.
The recycling stations are open as follows:
Friday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Saturday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Sunday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Monday 7 a.m. – 12 noon
The central recycling station will be open through the night from Sunday to Monday!
